Behold – The World’s Finest New Orleans Alligator Chili Recipe:
ALLIGATOR CHILI INGREDIENTS –
1 LB ALLIGATOR MEAT DICED
2 TABLESPOONS VEG OIL
1 LARGE ONION -CHOPPED
1 LARGE BELL PEPPER – CHOPPED
1 CLOVE GARLIC MINCED
1 (16 oz) CAN PINTO BEANS
1 (10 oz) CAN RO-TEL TOMATOES
1 (6 oz) CAN TOMATO PASTE
SALT AND BLACK PEPPER TO TASTE
1 TEASPOON CUMIN
1 JALAPENO PEPPER SEED REMOVED DICED (OPTIONAL)
1 CUP RED WINE
Combine the aforementioned ingredients together and prepare to boil the alligator meat in a large pot.
Boil the alligator meat with salt and cayenne pepper for 20 minutes then drain the water and place the meat somewhere safe. Note: For extra style points, you may choose to boil the alligator meat with 3 tablespoon of “Louisiana crab boil” or your favorite combination spice of choice.
Next add oil to a black iron and heat it up. Place the onion, bell pepper, and garlic into the heated black iron pot and sauté them until they are nice and tender. Next, add the pinto beans, tomatoes, red wine, tomato paste, salt, pepper, cumin, and jalepeno pepper. Cook the combination together on medium-low heat for anywhere from forty (40) minutes to one (1) hour. Finally, add the previously boiled alligator meat to the mixture and heat it on low heat for 3 more hours.
Note: For Maximum Effect Serve This Dish with Cornbread or Piping Hot French Bread.
